Should Students Wear School Uniforms?
FDR has a uniform policy, but one of the unintended 'benefits' of distance learning is that we can dress however we want from home.

I belive that uniforms could be used on some days and others not, because it would give a chance for students to express themeselves atleast once a week and still follow the school rules the remaining days.

DeleteGood suggestion! I wonder how many days of each we should do? Do you think students that are allowed free dress might like to dress up in bling-bling and may inadvertency make poorer students feel 'poorer'?

I think students should not go with uniform but have a dress code. It will let them express themselves and we can learn about each other. I also think it will allow us to feel more comfortable in school. If we didn't have uniform I think we should still have limit or in other words, a dress code. I think it could also be half uniform half not uniform like wearing the school's hoodie and whatever pants you want or wearing the school's skirt and your own hoodie. In conclusion i think we should have a more freedom in our day to day school clothes but with a limit.

ReplyDeleteThere is always someone who will always wear a more exspensive clothes or a new shirt o shoe that just came out.
Wearing a uniform makes sure that everyone wears the same and that the students are not embarrassed by using the same clothes twice or by not using the most exspensive clothes.
Wearing uniforms may not be the preetiest thing but it sure does help out students daily.

Wearing uniforms can help you in many different ways.
DeleteIt can help you by not worrying about what you will put if it looks good or not or maybe if it matches, you just put your school clothes. It can also help with the self esteem of all of us by making us ,teens, not worry about what we wear, if we didn't have uniforms it could really put us down if maybe you think someone has a "better" outfit than you or they have more expensive clothes.
Uniforms don't look the coolest but they help a lot with how we feel.
I believe yes because if there's no uniforms, maybe the teacher or the others can get confused in which school they belong to. Here are my reasons, when I was in Korean school there was no uniform but whenever we went to a field trip we had to wear a t-shirt that represent our class. So whenever we get lost, people around will tell where our class went.
ReplyDeleteI believe students should where uniforms because it can help them concentrate in their school work instead of on what will they were the next day, Here are my reasons I know that a lot of people really care about how they look like and what your wearing normally impacts that, so you would be thinking what will you where the next day all day in school, and it would take longer to do the work because your distracted all the time.
ReplyDeleteI believe that we should have some days (often) a week where we are allowed to wear normal clothes. My reasons are that uniforms can sometimes get boring. We don't want to wear them, but also if we had to wear normal clothes everyday we probably not know what to wear. Also we should be able to express ourselves with the clothes we like. Finally I think some days of the week would be available for us to choose if we want to wear normal clothes or uniforms.
ReplyDeleteI believe that I'm not really sure since there is both pros and cons about wearing uniforms .Like one of the Pros would be that wearing uniform could help an sense of community , meanwhile an con is that it could hamper with an student decisions skill. An con of wearing outside clothes is that segregation may happen, but it may make the student a bit more comfortable.
ReplyDeletei believe that we should use uniform only on school's special occations because those are special days that we should be representing the school, so we should use school uniform only on those days. a side from that, i dont think we should use school uniform on normal days because i think that we deserve to be comfortable while learning and studying.

DeleteI believe that students should wear uniforms because wearing uniforms help with keeping the school spirit up whenever another visiting school comes. Here are my reasons. #1 Wearing the school uniform helps raise the spirit of the kids to let them know which school they are privileged to study in. #2 Wearing school uniform helps reduce bullying as when you try to decide what clothes you are going to wear, people tend to make fun of your decision. #3 Wearing school uniforms helps elevate your attention span as you have to spend less time focusing on what you are wearing and what others might think about it and focus and the topic that you are studying on which helps increase your grade.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, school is a place were s student should grow and learn and sometimes by having the same clothes as others you are more focused on your learnig, according to phsycologists. With school uniforms, a student can be easily tracked-down or found in case of an emergency, or in field trips. Finally, with uniforms there is less criticism of other people's social class, or fashion sense. Which avoids bullying. Although I do understand that wothought uniforms a student may feel they have more freedom to express themselves, and their uniqueness, and may grow up to have no idea about what it is like to be different to other people since they grew up looking the same as everybody else, and being encouraged to. Something I would propose is for students to have off uniform days or having activities/drives/ donations going on in schools were you pay a certain amount of money for charity and get to wear your daily/street clothes.

ReplyDeleteI think that we should be able to wear uniforms on some days but also, wear outside clothes other days. The days we should wear uniforms are special days like field trips, picture day, etc. These day should be used for nice clothes that everyone has so that we are all the same and if something does happen, they can look at peoples clothes and find their peers easily. On the other hand, he should be able to wear street clothes on the normal school days.
ReplyDeleteI believe that students should be able to wear what they think it's better for them to wear in a school day, because if you pressure someone to wear a specific piece of clothing each day, some of them could not feel comfortable.

Also, when kids wear uniforms, both the older and younger students feel like they are part of the same group. ReplyDeleteI believe uniforms to be a great way to keep us organized and focused on our learning thus I also think not wearing uniforms instead being able to choose our own clothes helps us in a variety of ways. It can help people express themselves and become more independent when choosing our own clothes based on the classes or activities there are to perform. I also feel like some people might not feel comfortable with the school uniform or the design of it and would rather choose there own clothes which is another reason why us students should be able to be free and express ourselves with our clothes. I also think we could have a schedule formed maybe on Monday and Wednesday students are allowed to wear regular clothes but with a dress code applied and for it to be appropiate to wear at campus or school and Tuesday and Thursday we are required to wear the school uniform. I think friday could be optional and you could either choose to go with uniform or regular clothes. Lastly, when going to school field trips we should be required to wear school uniform to be able to recognize and maintain order in order to avoid any issues or problems.
ReplyDeleteI believe students should use uniforms on a daily basis. I believe that using uniforms helps students be more accepted and united, you may not have the same likes as someone else but at-least you got a uniform in common. I also believe that uniforms help students have more discipline and follow an order. Students are not going to be students for their entire life, at some-point, they will be grown-ups so they need to understand that by following orders and having discipline , everything will be easier because that will be their own auto guide. I know its hard to wear the same thing everyday, I am also a student, I would also like to express myself through outfits but using uniforms are just a small part of life and it will help us maintain order in our lifestyle .
